Range partition is with in range otherwise default
List is within the list otherwise default
But my requirement when ever a sequence number is increased i want to create a new partition Interval partitioning can be applied to any range partitioning structure, it is not limited to time based. List partitioning can be based on anything, including values derived from a sequence. You need to do a bit more studying before you reject suggestions for spurious reasons.
