Hi,
I have a batch file I use to create a database and import data into the database. I use this about three times a week and know it works well. However, if I run the batch file on a Windows 2000 Pentium 4 workstation using Oracle 8.1.7 I get the following error messages.
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
Echo OFF
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
LCC-00161: Message 161 not found; product=RDBMS; facility=MGR
I am certain this is a Pentium 4 issue as I run it successfully on any other workstation or server and the issue occurs on two seperate P4 workstations. Usually this error occurs if the oracle services are not running or initialised correctly - but I have verified these to be working correctly. Could this possibly be related to the 'symcjit.dll' installation problems?
Any help would be appreciated.

set your ORACLE_HOME,ORACLE_SID
login as the right OS user ( with administrative rights and ORACLE_HOME/bin in your PATH)
and start your database
