Hi,
i am using oracle8i in p4 windows2000 profesional
I just wish to explain my problem..
though i think its a version of old problem of
ora-03113 end of communication channel..but it
comes to me whenever i try to create new database
..else it runs well
my oracle is in d:oracle
but my database is at c:labdb
with pfile in c:pfileinitlabdb.ora
i created the service using oradim utility
then i set oracle_sid using command line
then i login to sql*plus
and as sysdba then i shutdown the earlier instance of database
and
try to mount my new instance in nomount mode
it gives end of communication channel
i need help to solve this problem
though its a variant of ora-03113
but i dont undderstand the exact problem in my case

Thanks for your reply again..
I have tried this just now..
but problem persists till now and its same
i am trying with this for last 4 hours ..still without solution
waiting for any possible reply from you..
and this ora-03113 error ..i am unable to understand what makes background process ending or whats it?
