oracle newbie -
we are running oracle 8.1 and need to know how much space is needed to run the oracle server. We have the server instance on c:, the datafiles on d: and logfiles on e:. d: and e: are full and we need to use some of c:. c: has 2.5 gig left. How much space does oracle need to run? Can I use a gig of the remaining 2.5 gig?
thanks for any help...

the binaries usually occupy around 1 GB ( actually around 800mb ...if u install all/more options it may be more)
the datafiles ( database files that acutally store the data and logfiles ) are NOT INCLUDED
