we have our database installed on AIX o/s, our system administrator wants to change the ip address of the system, does it any way affects our database ? Like connection problems for the clients.
Please if any body can clear doubt for me, i will be thankful.

If there are any clients or applications that are connecting to the database, then the changes should be reflected there also.
ORACLE DOES NOT DO ANY HOST / IP RESOLUTION.

No problem to database after the IP is edited. But the only lssue is your client configuration, if you have centralized for tnsname.ora for client than you just need to change on this configuration and please don't forget to chance on server configuration (tnsname & listener). thanks
