Forgive in advance for asking a basic question (I am a novice to DBMS) but I'm having a strange problem.

I've just installed Oracle 9.0.1 Server on Solaris 8 with Oracle Enterprise option and I got "Success"
messages.
By the way, the $ORACLE_HOME/bin directory does not
the executable "svrmgrl". I tried to install Oracle 9i
several times, but I got all the same result.

What's wrong~?

All the daemons of DBMS and listener are sane.

Thanks a million~

there is NO svrmgrl in 9i and above.
it is depreciated.
instead, use sqlplus (for all sqlplus and svrmgrl commands).
beware, you have to login as SYSDBA.

sqlplus "sys/sys_password as sysdba"
or
sqlplys "sys/sys_password@hostring as sysdba"
