Hi,
I'm getting the following error in the log files when installing oracle 8 on solaris 2.5.1.

ACtual errors in log:
OIERR-SYS: ld: fatal: library -lclntsh: not found
| OIERR-SYS: ld: fatal: library -lgen: not found
| OIERR-SYS: ld: fatal: library -lgen: not found
| OIERR-SYS: ld: fatal: File processing errors. No output written to wrap

Are these Oracle configuration related errors, or system/OS related errors (because of missing files).

I have all nm, ld, ar, make, in /usr/ccs/bin and all environment variables and /etc/system shared memory , semaphore values set according to specs.

Any help will be great. For detailed information on settings and error, please refer to few messages down titled 'Oracle 8.0.6 Installation. Re-linking error. Help Please! '

I don't know much about Oracle but I know that you are missing those libraries above, libclntsh.{o.ar} and libgen.{o.ar}.

May be try to find where those libraries are in your system and set it to environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH when compiling.
