Hello.

I found the following sys owned objects to be fragmented ranging from 80 to 120 extents:
- IND$
- OBJ$
- USER$
- ICOL$
- COL$

I am wondering if these fragmented sys objects contribute to some of our performance problems. If so, is it safe to rebuild these tables. And can anyone suggest of a method or methods to to do this.

Thanks in advance.

According to Oracle you should generally leave them alone, but best to check on metalink.oracle.com
The number of extents alone should be no reason for concern - Oracle say that up to 1000 extents per segment is no reason for concern.
